what to expect
what to expect
Many homeowners are not sure what to expect when an Electrical Comfort Advisor visits their home. Our goal is to keep everything transparent so you always know what we are doing and why. Below is an overview of what we will cover during the visit, what you can have ready ahead of time, the products and services we offer, current specials and options for financing your project.
What to Have Ready for Our Visit
Having a few items prepared helps us give you the most accurate assessment possible. Please have the following available:
✔ Recent PG&E statements. These help us understand your current electrical usage and show where we can help lower monthly utility costs.
✔ Model information for any equipment that may add electrical load.
✔ A list of future electrical plans for the home, such as HVAC upgrades, hot tubs, EV charging or solar.
✔ Clear access to the crawl space and attic for inspection.
✔ Access to each room so we can visually check outlets, switches and lighting for safety and code compliance.
We usually spend about 60 to 90 minutes on this process, depending on the home and the scope of the project. Our goal is to show you accurate, honest solutions so there are no surprises later.
What We Will Inspect
Electrical Load Calculation
We calculate how much available power your home has for new additions. This also confirms your current system can handle all existing demands safely.
Wiring and Device Check
We inspect wiring, outlets, switches and lighting fixtures to ensure everything is safe, functional and code compliant.
Main and Sub Panel Inspection
We examine your panels to make sure the equipment meets today’s safety standards and is sized correctly for your home’s electrical needs.
Code and Requirement Review
Any solution we recommend will meet current city and county codes. This helps avoid added costs or failed inspections later.
Reviewing Solutions Together
Once the inspection is complete, we walk through your options in clear, simple terms so you can make the best decision for your home.
