What to expect
Many homeowners are not sure what to expect when a technician visits their home for an evaluation. Our goal is to keep everything transparent so you always know what we are doing and why. Below is an overview of what we will cover during the visit, what you can have ready ahead of time, the products and services we offer, current specials and the available options for financing your project.
Items to Have Ready for the Visit
• Recent PG&E statements if available. This helps us understand your current HVAC energy use and identify ways to lower your monthly utility costs.
• A clear list of your wants and needs for a new HVAC system.
• Accessible crawl space or attic entry for our inspection. This may be needed for duct or insulation evaluation.
• Access to each room that currently has or will need heating or cooling so we can complete our engineering analysis.
We typically spend 60 to 90 minutes in your home, depending on its size and the scope of work. Our goal is to gather precise information so we can provide accurate solutions without surprises.
Engineering Analysis (Importance of a Load Calculation)
We measure each room and document heat load factors to size your new system correctly. Many companies rely only on listed square footage, which is often inaccurate. Improper sizing can lead to higher utility bills, early system failure and uneven comfort.
Duct Inspection
Your ductwork delivers all the heating and cooling throughout your home. We check duct sizing, layout and airflow balance to make sure it matches the needs of modern HVAC systems. Proper sizing and balancing help prevent hot and cold spots.
Insulation Inspection
Insulation plays a major role in comfort and system sizing. Attic and crawl space insulation helps regulate indoor temperature throughout the year. We check levels and condition to determine if improvements are needed.
Existing System Inspection (When Applicable)
If we are adding new equipment to an existing system, we verify that everything currently in place is safe, functional and compatible.
Code Requirements
We ensure all recommended solutions meet current city and county code requirements. This helps avoid failed inspections or unexpected future costs.
Reviewing Solutions Together
We go over your options clearly so you can make informed decisions.
